We came to the conclusion that Ecuador may be a great choice for those who have traveled back and forth across both Americas. This small country in the Andes is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Latin America and offers everything
a seasoned traveler may dream of.
On some days during the trip our guests were treated to breakfast served deep in the Amazon jungle, only to enjoy lunch high in the mountains, and celebrate dinner at the Pacific coast. They were mesmerized by the country’s beautiful nature – picturesque mountains, abundance of waterfalls, tropical fauna or the bush. Historic, colonial landmarks and the Indian heritage were high on the list of the country’s advantages as well. Our group has taken numerous photographs on the equator. They also visited the Otavalo markets, bather in the hot volcanic springs in Papallacta, at 3,300 m asl, and experienced numerous adventures in the Amazon jungle – for instance a cruise down the Napo river and
a trek through the dense rainforest. We also paid a visit to Quechua Indians in the jungle – we met the sorcerer, learned about traditional fishing techniques, found out how to grow yucca, bananas and cocoa trees, and discovered how to look for gold in the waters of the river.
While looking at the pictures from the trip, one may notice smiles against the background or the beautiful Andes, picturesque landscapes captured while traveling along the Volcano Road, close encounters with hummingbirds, toucans and monkeys in the jungle, and beautiful waterfalls, including the famous, cascading Devil’s Cauldron.
